Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be referred by my physician?

No. Massachusetts is a Direct Access state—meaning a physician referral is not required for a physical therapy evaluation. For patients with Medicare, the plan of care created after the initial visit needs to be approved and signed by a physician; Ali will communicate directly with the physician to ensure this is completed.

What will a Cronin Physical Therapy session include?

The first session will be an initial evaluation, which may include: flexibility, strength, gait, balance, coordination, endurance and mobility assessments using standardized tests and obtaining a subjective report. Home safety and durable medical equipment assessments may also be completed. Treatment will start during this first session.

Subsequent treatment sessions may include a combination of exercises, stretching, strengthening, balance training, endurance training, and functional mobility training. Handouts will be provided for home exercise programs and other education material as indicated.

How long is each session?

Initial evaluation is approximately 60 minutes. Treatment sessions are approximately 50-60 minutes.

Where and when do you provide services?

Ali comes to you! Servicing Sudbury, Concord, Lincoln, Wayland, Weston, and surrounding towns. Appointments will be in your home and Ali will bring all necessary equipment.

How frequent are appointments?

This is determined on an individual basis depending on your needs and goals. Appointments are available 7 days a week at varying times of day to accommodate busy schedules as best as possible.

Do you take insurance?

Cronin Physical Therapy is in network with Medicare and several Medicare replacement plans. If you have Medicare or a Medicare replacement plan, Ali will work with you and your insurance to determine if you have met your deductible, have a copay, and if you need preauthorization from your primary care physician.

For those who do not have Medicare or a Medicare replacement plan as their primary insurance, Cronin Physical Therapy is out of network. Prior to your first visit, please download the insurance worksheet (Patient Forms) and use it to contact your insurance company about your out-of-network benefits. As a courtesy, Ali will submit to your insurance a bill for reimbursement—on your behalf (if applicable). If your insurance company grants coverage, you will receive a check reimbursing you for your visit (depending on coverage).

Please do not hesitate to call Ali with any questions related to insurance coverage.

How does payment work for Cronin Physical Therapy?

If your services are not covered by insurance, patients are asked for payment at the time of the visit. Cronin Physical Therapy accepts check only.
